Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for planning and executing events for a large and diverse college. Serve as confidential and administrative assistant to the Assistant Dean for DEI and as backup support for the Dean and three Associate Deans of CAHNRS as needed. Maintain a high level of knowledge of University and College policies and procedures related to Research, Extension, and Academic Programs. Exercise independent judgment and discretion with little supervision. Coordinate special projects on behalf of the college.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver's license by time of hire.
  • Experience in an academic/educational setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, FileMaker Pro, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment where customer service is valued and emphasized.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relationships.
  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines.
  • Experience with Event Planning.
  • Experience with WorkDay.
  • Demonstrated WordPress knowledge and website management.

Range #40, $3,144.00 - $4,083.00 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
