STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $57,761 - $70,596 per year

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

Advise new and prospective students and staff regarding all aspects of financial aid through various modes of communication. Responsible for following federal regulations when processing applications, electronic files, verification, correspondence, etc. Review, process, and follow up with students regarding appeals, professional judgment, academic plans, verification items, etc.

  • Advise students on their overall financial plan on paying for college including sensitive personal and financial matters. Connect students with other resources on campus, coach students on their success plan, and be a continued point of contact for students.
  • Represent the College at on-campus and off-campus events that pertain to financial aid and identify opportunities for community outreach. This includes developing financial aid presentations and materials, as well as presenting to students, parents, colleagues from around campus, community activities, financial aid conferences, etc.
  • Advise and establish relationships with currently enrolled and prospective students, staff, and the general public with inquiries related to financial aid policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Responsible for evaluating student's financial needs and processing financial aid awards. This includes reviewing FAFSA results, interpreting tax documents, and verifying information on the FAFSA application.
  • Analyze and manage various reports such as grades and enrollment status to verify continued compliance and eligibility of students receiving aid under federal guidelines and in conjunction with the College's policies
  • Evaluate unusual/mitigating circumstance documentation while adhering to federal regulations for the purposes of exercising professional judgment in determining eligibility.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional college teams to execute various recruitment, retention, and enrollment-focused initiatives.
  • Attend professional development and Federal Student Aid training activities. Remain current on federal and state financial aid regulations and guidelines. Create, update, and maintain departmental policies and procedures.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience directly related to Financial Aid. **An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
