The Agile Portfolio Manager serves a critical role managing NI's Information & Technology portfolio. You will lead the IT portfolio and resource planning processes including the definition, management, and governance of the Information Technology Portfolio planning practice to optimize delivery of value aligned to our company and IT strategy. This role collaboratively partners with IT leaders and key business stakeholders to ensure optimal portfolio planning and management processes and portfolio health metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with establishing and maintaining an overall CIO portfolio view.

  • Prepare and facilitate portfolio health, scorecard, and review meetings, with objectivity, accuracy, and transparency.

  • Define and implement governance processes aligned with our agile operating model and processes.

  • Design and implement improvements to the process and toolset used to facilitate IT Portfolio operational processes. Be aware of technology projects/trends and adopt methodologies that could help with data gathering and analysis.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders to drive alignment, engagement, adoption and governance of the IT Planning processes.

  • Prepare portfolio data by effectively collecting, analyzing, and communicating portfolio insights and trends.

  • Facilitate tracking of benefits realization and communication across the IT portfolio.

  • Forecast the demand and capacity of IT resources.

  • Advise leaders and decision makers on the effects of various portfolio options with recommendations on feasible courses of action.


  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree preferably in Business/Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field / work experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of portfolio management experience or equivalent leadership experience. Experience governing portfolio efforts in a blended agile and traditional PPM environment a plus.

  • 7+ years' experience in Information Technology or related function

  • Proficient knowledge of Agile/DevOps/Program Management Lifecycle methodologies and standards. Experience with agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban. SAFe LPM, SPC certification, etc. a plus.


  • Skills

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English

  • Advanced skills in using MS Excel, ability to managing large data sets, formulas, Pivot Tables

  • Strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications

  • A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills.

  • Strong ability to craft and implement dashboards; ability to analyze data and present it in a way that tells a story.

  • Ability to facilitate and drive process improvements and partner with other functions/individuals.

  • Proven ability to build commitment and empower others, communicate with clarity, courage and timeliness.

  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, can handle the unexpected with flexibility.


  • Considered a plus

  • Experience in analytics, BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Minitab, SAS, etc.)

  • Experience in SQL and relational databases

  • Experience in programming

  • Experience working with financial and/or HR data
