Job Description Summary
This position is as a member of a team of software developers who are creating and deploying medical image analysis software tools based on research produced within the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics. The developer will be responsible for software packaging, writing software or updating code originating as research prototypes for integration in stand-alone GUI applications or web-based solutions.

This position is as a member of a team of software developers who are creating and deploying medical image analysis software tools based on research produced within the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics. The developer will be responsible for software packaging, writing software or updating code originating as research prototypes for integration in stand-alone GUI applications or web-based solutions.
The preferred candidate will make a direct contribution to medical and scientific research by applying good software engineering practices to take algorithms and software from a research stage and implement them in polished applications that are deployable in a clinical setting.
The developer will interact directly with researchers at Penn and external collaborators to determine functional requirements and propose and implement innovative technical solutions and must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels. He or she must ensure adherence to technical, quality assurance, data integrity and security standards and guide team members and researchers in the software development process.
Responsibilities include identification and implementation of technologies for client-side applications, web-based products, and hybrid solutions to fit specific project goals and requirements. Working with other team members, the candidate must plan, organize, and manage development projects and associated schedules.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, or related fields preferred) and a minimum of 2-3 years professional software development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
