The Assoc Principal Engineer is a member of the Process Engineering Team and is engaged in developing a pilot to commercial-scale manufacturing processes/equipment and assisting the Manufacturing Team with technical support.

What you will do:

  • Develop spray drying/particle engineering processes for early phase products
  • Support/Lead in the execution of R&D/Tox/Clinical manufacturing campaigns with a team of technicians
  • Compile & analyze data; document results; review executed study documentation, and present study results to project teams
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing when implementing process changes
  • Support manufacturing investigations and CAPAs as needed based on process development experience
  • Refine the design of existing custom equipment used in particle production for manufacturing optimization

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering: chemical, mechanical, and biochemical engineering degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of shown experience with the pharmaceutical industry or a minimum of three years of proven experience within another industry.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong planning & organization orientation
  • Good time management skills
  • Works well within cross-functional teams consisting of members from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cGMP requirements and cleanroom operations.
  • Experience with Emulsions, Spray Drying, and/or Jet Milling.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection for shifts up to the length of time
  • Ability to work with various chemicals once given proper protective equipment.
  • Sufficient dexterity to don and doff cleanroom clothing over normal work attire.
  • Capable of operating a computer and sitting for extended periods.
