Business Development Manager, Industrial Castings 

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location:  Kohler, WI or Remote 


Reporting to the General Manager - North America Product Strategy, the Business Development Manager is responsible for the operational and strategic activities of the Industrial Castings business. This role directs the overall activity of the Industrial Castings business and bears the responsibility for business growth, achievement of the market objectives and profit and loss of the business.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a strategic plan for delivering short and long-term goals for the Industrial Castings business.
  • Create and implement a Sales Strategy for growing the industrial castings business through existing relationships, and new accounts.
  • Establish best practices for regular account meetings and key customer reviews. Seek feedback to ensure we are meeting expectations of the partnership and providing the value-added services our customers desire.
  • Refine or create new sales and marketing tools to showcase Industrial Castings competitive advantages and differentiators.
  • Manage the Inside Sales function; coordinating all activities with established customers. Includes expediting orders, resolving credit issues, and assisting with technical support, and quoting activities.
  • Report out monthly to leadership regarding the plans for sales and explanation of variances, warranty, shipping, etc. Also recommend pricing actions as needed.
  • Administer and communicate the monthly material surcharge program. Recommend program changes to upper management to recover the monthly fluctuations incurred with raw materials and energy.
  • Manage all monthly sales commission payouts to external representative agencies.
  • Build a strong team to enhance effectiveness of the Industrial Castings group. Manage, develop, and train the Ind. Castings Sales Representatives to increase sales by communicating the value proposition that Ind. Castings can provide.



  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Business Management, Finance, Marketing, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years prior experience in sales, marketing, channel management, operations, sourcing, and/or product development with progressively more responsibility and a proven track record of results.
  • At least 3-years experience with P&L and budgeting.


  • MBA/Master degree.
  • Well rounded exposure to manufacturing, business development, marketing, human resources and finance is highly preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - a self-starter with an internal drive to identify and create new business opportunities.
