Functional Description: Support Individual Contributor

Performs functions associated with calibration, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data. Assist in developing methods and procedures for calibration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing a variety of work functions related to equipment calibration and maintenance of the equipment calibration system. Incumbent may develop written calibration procedures, schedule calibration activities (internal and external), perform equipment calibration and adjustments, ensure proper documentation of calibrations results, and maintain the equipment calibration system. Must be proficient with calibration methodologies, troubleshooting, and adjustments. Support and assist with out-of-tolerance equipment investigations, as necessary.

  • Calibrate equipment such as scales/balances, thermometers, temperature & humidity chambers, dimensional equipment, mass, force, dewpoint, pressure/vacuum, time, velocity, ovens, refrigerators/freezers, differential pressure, etc.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate reports, records, update histories, and perform data entry in the equipment control system.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust measuring equipment
  • Maintain calibration test equipment, work area, and lab
  • Work with relevant industry guidelines, e.g., ISO-13485, ISO-17025, ISO-10012, CFR 820
  • Use the Microsoft Suite of products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Lucid Charts, etc.
  • Utilize calibration software, e.g., Fluke Metcal, Meteams, National Instrument Calibration Executive suite, SureCal, Vaisala, etc.
  • Follow related SOPs, cGMPs, and industry practices
  • Work in a cleanroom environment
  • Work in an EPA (ESD) controlled environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Calibrating equipment such as scales/balances, thermometers, temperature & humidity chambers, dimensional equipment, mass, force, dewpoint, pressure/vacuum, time, velocity, ovens, refrigerators/freezers, differential pressure, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous work experience in an FDA or regulated industry
  • Experience working with GMP practices
  • Calibration Technician Certification (CCT) and/or industry Technical Certification is preferred.
  • Calibration database management and navigation experience, Blue Mountain (RAM) Software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ESD principles

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience

Language Skills:
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Functional Description

Performs functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

  • Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Applies acquired job and company knowledge of policies and procedures to complete semi-routine tasks.

Scope

  • Work at this level requires following standardized methods and under immediate supervision on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
  • Follows pre-established guidelines and procedures with minimal choice as to method of performance of the work.
  • Has contact with employees at other levels within the company. Information exchanged is generally non-complex.

Judgement

  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Works under close supervision.
