Department Information

Luddy Career Services partners with students in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering as well as employers recruiting for technology, information, and engineering opportunities. We serve Luddy students in all levels of their career development, from exploratory and pre-major students, to those pursuing undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, in addition to our alumni. Our mission is to provide opportunities and resources that will empower students to define their career goals, develop professional life skills, obtain related experience, and realize their career potential.

Job Summary

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversees office operations, supports employer partnerships, coordinates annual outcome data collection, and empowers students with relevant resources to equip them for career success.
  • Serves to support Luddy students through strategically cultivating and continuing authentic partnerships with employers focused on both current recruiting needs and future growth.
  • Provides outstanding customer service to ensure a welcoming and inclusive first interaction with Luddy Career Services physically and digitally
  • Develops and implements processes to create efficient office operations, organization, and communications
  • Supports employer recruiting through in-office interviews, on-campus events, job posting approvals, and trend reporting
  • Project manager for student and employer focused resources, such as the office's annual career search guide, and program infographics
  • Partners with IU and Luddy stakeholders regarding office expenses and departmental business
  • Provides project support to Director of Career Services
General Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
  • Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.; compiles data for expense and statistical reports.
  • Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately.
  • Schedules and confirms appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements; tracks expenses.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of administrative standards, policies and practices for the organization.
  • May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or GED
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years of relevant experience
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

$40,000 - $41,725 annually
