The Driver Trainer is responsible for driving an assigned route and overseeing all driver related training activities within the department.

Essential Duties:

  • Drives truck to deliver such items as perishable foods, table top items, special equipment and frozen foods
  • Assists in preparing training schedules for probationary drivers as measured through the 90-day program.
  • Must be able to lead and conduct training regimen for Safety Programs, New Hire Class, Third Party CDL, and regulated and non-regulated compliance programs.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach drivers to ensure their success with the company environment
  • Maintains and supports department systems (i.e. Cadec, Night Drop Program, Cellular, Driver Stats, Accident DB, etc) to meet department objectives.
  • Must comply with company policies and D.O.T. regulations
  • Loads returned products and empty containers in truck by placing in proper temperature zones
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Candidate must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for tractor trailer operation
  • Candidate must have a good driving record for past 39 months
  • 3+ years tractor trailer/route delivery experience
  • Must be available to work with the demands of the department which are subject to overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
