Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in our Intensive Home Based Therapeutic Care Program at Behavioral Health Network!

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the Intensive Home Based Therapeutic Care Programyou will get to work directly with youth and their caregivers in the Pioneer Valley and Hampden County. This position will provide direct intervention and supports in the community to the youth and family while working closely with the Occupational Therapist and rest of the team of providers.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works as a member of the Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care (IHBTC) team to provide tangible support to youth and families referred by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH).

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will implement the interventions outlined in the assessment conducted by the Occupational Therapist. Consultation to the Intensive Home Based Therapeutic Care team will be frequent to help inform care. The COTA delivers high quality outreach services to families and their children and maintains responsibilities under the direction of the licensed Occupational Therapist.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Behavioral Health Network has the following qualities:

  • Associate\'s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • One year of experience working with families.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Discipline-specific knowledge as well as skills with internet, word processing, and email systems.
