Job Description

SUMMARY: The expectations of this position are to lead and direct hourly team members to deliver accurate data and achieve live production perfomance to meet Cobb research and development objectives (Includes Hatchery, Broiler, and Breeder Research). The essential functions of this position are as follows: Hire and develop qualified team members; develop and maintain employee and operations schedules; operate within capital and operational budget guidelines; manage trials in accordance with protocols; compile and analyze Hatchery/Broiler/Breeder performance data; maintain facility equipment; achieve compliance with regulatory agencies; achieve a culture of safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare. Responsible for supervising a team of hourly team members; monitoring work quality; coaching team members on performance; providing training to non-exempt team members, and monitoring time and attendance; responsible for the quality of work produced by the team; responsible for upkeep and operation of the facility including the office, hatchery, poultry houses and all other facilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field normally acquired through four 4 years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 2 plus years poultry experience. Experience with Live Production and Facility Management preferred.

Computer Skills: Standard skills are required. This position requires working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications.

Travel: Minimal domestic trips.

Supervisory: A team of approximately 15 plus hourly team members.

Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species including but not limited to chickens, ducks birds . The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in the Biosecurity Standards.

Physical Requirements: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Team Member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
