The Computer Service Coordinator is responsible to the Senior Computer and Media Services Manager. This position consults with all level of client staff within the college to determine, recommend and implement their technology equipment and software needs. This position manages client workstation hardware, software, and their connectivity into the Waubonsee enterprise network. Client workstations may be on-campus and off-campus.
Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor workload for Full-time and Part-time Computer Services specialists, technicians, Computer Lab assistants, and Federal Work Study Students.
Coordinate and manage assigned projects with all college staff including all Information Technology (IT) staff. Lead work breakdown structures for assigned projects.
Consult and advise all levels of college staff regarding present and future workstation use and needs.
Install and coordinate the testing of client workstation hardware and software.
Develop and maintain client workstation hardware standards.
Support and train IT staff in the effective use of PC's, MACs, mobile devices and any other computer-related equipment.
Create and maintain appropriate documentation which include hardware standards and standard operating procedures as applicable.
Work with Information Security manager to ensure optimal client workstation security.
Explore, research, and recommend new technologies in client workstation software.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum three years related experience in a technical role.
Two years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
Good verbal and written communications skills required. Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of management, faculty, staff and students.
Ability to be available off-hours to perform system/event support and maintenance duties.
