The DEA Compliance Specialist will be responsible for providing support and assist in the development, implementation, and organization of the company’s Controlled Substance Program based on current DEA and State Regulations of controlled substances. This role is located in Decatur, Illinois.

  • ARCOS reporting
  • Quota requests
  • Year End Reports
  • Maintain proper recording keeping
  • Coordination of controlled substance destructions in accordance with DEA regulations
  • Support and participate in controlled substance inventories
  • Maintain DEA related SOPs
  • Provide support to the suspicious order monitoring program
  • Support the implementation, management, and maintenance of all companywide DEA compliance
  • Review cGMP documentation related to controlled substances
  • Issue, track, complete, and audit DEA 222 order forms for compliance with DEA requirements
  • Ensure proper security controls are in place for shipping and receiving controlled drugs
  • Monitor all licensing requirements regarding the storage and handling of controlled substances


Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in a professional setting are required.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years direct DEA Compliance experience or 5 years of pharmaceutical experience that includes working directly with controlled substances preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong familiarity with FDA, DEA and cGMPs.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple groups within the company to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
