Position Summary

The Director of Credit Risk Reporting is responsible for providing executive level support related to the organization's credit risk. Primary responsibilities include reporting and analytics for the management of Credit Risk, including, but not limited to, key credit metrics, risk ratings, exposures, and concentrations. The Director must prepare accurate and insightful reporting regarding the status and trends of the Bank's loan portfolio. Reports will be presented to Executive Leadership, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. The role is instrumental in supporting management decisions including credit risk appetite and loan loss reserves. The role requires a superior level of attention to detail as reports are used for external purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze key credit risk indicators. Develop timely and accurate reports that are meaningful to drive business growth and make key decisions. Provide clear conclusions and highlight emerging areas of risk. Measure compliance with regulatory capital requirements and banks policies to reduce liability and risk related issues to the bank. Evaluate various loan portfolios or segments to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Synthesize and present results, observations and recommendations to Executive leadership. Reports should be comprehensive and allow for others to monitor and proactively manage critical trends in the portfolios.
  • Research and reconcile various data elements required for accurate reporting. Maintain a high level of accuracy in data quality. Thoroughly analyze data to identify anomalies. Integrate diverse and complex data sets from various sources. Work collaboratively with other colleagues to understand data gaps and build improved data extracts and quality.
  • Continually enhance report design and prepare professional level presentations; Streamline and automate processes and reports to drive the group's transformation. Direct the continuous transformation of databases and analytics for improved data quality and integrity.
  • Work closely with Internal and External Stakeholders to provide key information, such as Finance/Regulatory Reporting, CECL, Credit Risk Review, and SOX. Prepare accurate information OCC requests. Communicate effectively with regulators as appropriate.
  • Own one or more aspects of the Credit Risk group, such as concentrations, exceptions or segment reporting; Develop consistent policies and procedures
  • Utilize alternate systems to improve data quality and presentation, including Tableau, Alteryx and/or Sageworks. Understand and build any coding/development in the associated systems.
  • Lead and manage projects as necessary to upgrade key systems and reporting tools, interfacing with technology partners. Drive discovery, develop solutions, align key stakeholders, and manage implementation steps and timelines
  • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, managers, and business partners to maximize the value and effectiveness of reports and analyses.

  • Education, Experience & Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
    • 8-10 years of experience in banking or credit risk environment
    • Strong Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, macros, and functions
    • Thorough knowledge of report construction and merging multiple data sets; Familiarity with reporting tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Sageworks, and Business Objects; Ability to learn and use new systems and software
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Research, analytical, interpretation and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work with high degree of independence; Strong self-start initiative; Curious mindset for research
    • Capable of adapting to a rapidly changing environment
    • Demonstrate ethical behavior and integrity in everyday business conduct; Interact professionally with all colleagues

    The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
