Primary Purpose: Responsible for administering international and graduate programs.

• Travel to promote programs, recruit students and faculty, and develop agreements with international partners.
• Work to increase enrollment of current programs in domestic and international markets.
• Coordinate with the offices of co-sponsoring schools regarding application and admission processes for students.
• Respond to student queries regarding study abroad, exchange, and dual-degree programs.
• Coordinate outreach and advise students on general issues relating to study abroad preparation and deployment.
• Coordinate with SUCOL Business Office, SUCOL Financial Aid Office, co-sponsoring schools, and other home institutions to facilitate payments of all study abroad tuition & fees.
• Create partnerships with law firms and non-profit organizations to provide opportunities for students to compete for fellowships, externships and job placement abroad.
• Work closely with and provide frequent reports to the Dean or Associate Deans on the current status of international programs and graduate programs, including study abroad programs, Master of Jurisprudence programs (M.J.), LL.M. programs, student and faculty exchanges, and dual-degree programs.
• Supervise office staff.
• Oversee the international LL.M. program and international visitors/fellows programs.
• Set marketing and enrollment goals for LL.M., M.J., and study abroad programs.
• Prepare enrollment projection and goal reports for the campus Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) team.
• Partner with schools in the international study-abroad consortium.
• Organize all study-abroad programs; this includes finding and/or evaluating classroom and living facilities; preparing and monitoring budgets; understanding local laws; recruiting resident directors and faculty; developing and updating risk-management plans; reviewing various agreements; marketing and publicizing programs, etc.
• Coordinate when appropriate with the International Environmental Moot Court Competition, American Caribbean Legal Initiative, two-year J.D. program for foreign lawyers, Institute for Caribbean Law and Policy, Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy, and administrators of dual-degree and exchange programs with foreign institutions, in furtherance of Stetson's international and graduate program goals
• Prepare reports to academic accreditation authorities for all supervised programs.
• Develop and monitor budgets for international and graduate programs.
• Develop proposals for new international programs and opportunities in collaboration with the SUCOL faculty, as well as faculty /administrators of foreign institutions.
• Serve as an ex officio member of faculty and other committees related to international programs. Complete miscellaneous projects under the direction of the Dean.
• Prepare reports for the Dean for submission to the University President, University Board of Trustees, and Law School Board of Overseers.
• Work closely with members of the faculty and senior administrative staff.
• Represent the College of Law in various programs and at various events.
• Maintain, in connection with Communications, and Program Directors, the International & Graduate Programs webpages.
• Collaborate with other units of Stetson University to leverage relationships across the institution.

Reporting and Analysis

• Compile and analyze statistical reporting for all study abroad, exchange, and dual-degree programs.
• Create reports, if and when necessary, for other offices to facilitate coordination for study abroad, exchange, and dual-degree programs (e.g., Business Office, Financial Aid, Communications, HR, IT); and

Recruiting/Marketing

• Recruit and actively market to both students and faculty at co-sponsoring schools into study abroad programs via e-mail campaigns, presentations, and individual meetings.
• Assist with marketing of training programs offered by the International & Graduate Programs Office.
• Oversee, with Communications, the creation of program brochures for all International & Graduate Programs offerings
• Ensure all relevant study abroad program information is current and available via multiple advertising channels, e.g., National Jurist, ABA website, and social media pages; and
• Individually, and with staff, aggressively promote study abroad programs via class presentations at SUCOL and other Stetson University campuses, co-sponsoring schools, information sessions, study abroad fair(s), and other presentations as planned throughout the year.

Event Planning

• Organize and manage, in host country, local tours, guest speakers, and field trips to enhance study abroad programs and meet ABA Criteria for study abroad programs.
• Identify and facilitate relevant and stimulating guest speaker events in an effort to internationalize the SUCOL campus.
• Coordinate events with international student organizations to promote global awareness and internationalize the SUCOL campus.
• Educate students and faculty about health, safety, and study abroad logistics both before they apply and during Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation.
• Serves as Adjunct Professor and perform duties and responsibilities, and assist students, as required; and
• Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent foreign degree required with 8-10 years of experience. Extensive past international travel relating to international program development (study abroad, institutional partnerships, etc.) is required. Prior experience as a law faculty or running international programs is a strong plus. Foreign language skills are particularly helpful. Fluency in Spanish and/or French desirable. Strong communications skills, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize among competing tasks. High degree of sound judgment, tact, and confidentiality. Strong administrative skills are essential. Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice. Must be able to supervise full-time employees effectively, and to counsel both foreign and American law students.
