Toro is looking for an electrical liaison engineer with a strong passion to lead the design, development, validation, testing, and manufacturing of new electronic equipment and products. You will drive the manufacturability of the designs provided by the design teams by supporting the manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and vendor efforts for manufacturing time reduction, capacity improvement, and cost reduction efforts. You would become the go-to person to resolve problems or hindrances to help move products from design to manufacturing. You would apply your engineering knowledge combined with your leadership and influencing skills to make products come to life.

What will you do?

  • Work with other engineers, designers, technicians, manufacturing and quality personnel, and vendors to drive the manufacturability of the designs provided by the Design teams.
  • Work directly with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Vendors to identify and resolve engineering design issues during the production process.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure design for manufacturability concepts have been utilized and match capabilities of the different manufacturing processes and production lines.
  • Support the design process with development of circuit modifications to improve performance and manufacturability of electronic hardware.
  • Coordinate current and future electrical and electronics designs with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Vendors and maintain constant communication between these areas and the Design teams.

What do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering (Professional Engineering License or Bachelor's degree in an ABET accredited program), mechatronics (Professional Engineering license, or Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Undergraduate engineering program. Completion of EIT requirements desirable), or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of overall experience as an electrical engineer, electrical liaison engineer, or other related areas.
  • Experience designing electrical and electronic components and systems
  • Experience working with test, design and manufacture of circuit boards required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Collaborative team player with ability to communicate, lead, influence and work across levels and departments, where flexibility, adaptability, and resiliency are important
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Able to learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues
  • Understanding of and experience with manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities for electronic components and systems
  • Knowledge of embedded software architecture and best practices.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, Risk Assessments, Functional Safety standards.
