Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer, Vehicle Integration Team for (BEV) you will support the timely design of efficient and cost-effective e-tractors. You will have specific accountability for both electrical power and signal distribution (PASD) systems, mechanical subsystems and associated projects.
Responsibilities include:
Leading projects. Prepare and complete electrical schematics, mechanical and electrical designs, design reviews, FMEA, modeling (component and assembly) and drawing efforts. Tracking costs of your completed designs with the support of product cost management. Clearly define and evaluate electrical harness, mechanical componentry and system level costs versus the achieved functionality. Create test requests, and prototype shop work orders. Resolve product integrity reports (PIR's) and track progress to project milestones. Accountable for achieving reliability targets in the project growth period. Write and track engineering change orders. Must be willing to travel to gain product and functional experience as required. Accountable to maintain a project log on assigned tasks and work with the project team through development and implementation phases to meet project timing.
Communicate with management, platform, production, and marketing staff utilizing effective proactive engineering tools to determine design feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer acceptance for new and current products and refine requirements when necessary.
Communicate with a broad engineering team to coordinate the interrelated PASD design and assure project completion following established design processes.
Aid with prototype builds and actively engage in field operations as required. The individual in this position must be able to develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and documentation consistent with program requirements. These include but are not limited to electrical schematics, electrical and mechanical system operation requirements, interfaces, test and validation specifications, models and drawings. Documentation may be used by both internal and external customers. Must be able to provide necessary documentation to support project milestone presentations.
This position pays $66,000 to $132,000 ( Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
