Enterprise Procurement Intern (Summer Internship)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

This rigorous program ensures the opportunity for students to enhance new skills, obtain real-world experience, gain specific field-related exposure, and make important connections for the future.

The Enterprise Procurement Intern role will be embedded within the Procurement organization and support Globe Life's Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Strategic Sourcing programs. The role will input required third party profile information, maintain a centrally accessible third party repository, and organize third party supporting documentation. This role is ideal for an organized, detailed-oriented self-starter that is passionate about process improvement.

  • Ability and willingness to perform clerical functions as needed
  • Responsible for documenting an accurate and complete centralized repository of third party service providers including profile data, product description, status, categorization, DUNS information, business owners and contracts.
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Ensure that proper documentation for new and existing third party relationships is properly organized in the system or record and shared folders. This includes, but is not limited to, risk assessment questionnaires, contracts, insurance documentation, SOC report, financials, Attestations of PCI Compliance, etc.
  • Implementing/collaborating programming best practices
  • Enter existing vendor data in the vendor management tool. Data includes vendor profile information, contracts and prior assessment data.
  • Willingness to learn different areas within the organization
  • Research and update vendor records to make sure attributes are captured and accurately reflected for the third party relationships, including risks and applicable regulations.
  • Work on different projects within the department as well as team projects
  • Back up other team members during vacations and/or leaves of absence
  • Maintain a contract repository with supporting documentation saved and stored in an organized fashion.
  • Automate processes and create usable reports, tables, metrics and charts regarding vendor and contract counts.
  • Take notes during meetings with business owners to confirm their vendor lists.
  • Drive process improvements for the Third-Party Risk Management program and Contract review process.

Required Skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills
  • Ability to generate ideas for and support continuous improvement in the department
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize work; must be able to juggle multiple tasks, tight deadlines and changing priorities and will meet deliverables on time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient PC skills, specifically with business-oriented applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Procurement and financial service, insurance or health care industry

Required Knowledge & Experience

Must have obtained at least junior status in a Bachelor degree program (Accounting, Finance)
  • We seek candidates who have excellent analytical skills, a focus on results, the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, and creative problem solving abilities.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (Official Transcript May be Requested)
  • Have the ability to work 40 hours per week June 5, 2023- July 28, 2023.
