Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Seattle, Inc. is now accepting applications from mechanical, chemical, civil, or environmental engineering students interested in a summer internship in Seattle. We are looking for someone who has completed at least two years of engineering courses and has some experience or interest in an industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented person with a strong understanding of basic computing software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.), some knowledge, experience, and interest in Environmental Sustainability, some experience and/or interest in the steelmaking field, and - most importantly - one who possesses a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn. This position involves both hands-on work in a heavy industrial environment as well as behind-the-desk work. The successful candidate will gain experience in all aspects of project management, process improvement, design work, and environmental compliance activities. Duties will range from design and document management to supervision of contract projects.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have completed at least two years of engineering courses and be working toward a degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, or environmental engineering.
