POSITION PURPOSE

Provides coordination, communication and project management assistance for the implementation of the application, application area, or specialized team. Manages the scope, schedule, and quality of the project in a specific assigned application area. Works closely with the Epic Director Applications and other Project Managers to coordinate activities. Forms collaborative relationships within the application team and within clinical and business communities. Assists the Director Applications in reaching project deliverables and objectives. Advises team members on project issues, key success factors of the project, and lessons learned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions.Establishes priorities that align with organizational initiatives. Manages multiple projects simultaneously and adapts to frequent changes in priority. Manages teams to consensus decisions that support organizational objectives.Develops, manages and monitors assigned projects utilizing the designed methodology. Identifies and documents detailed tasks and timeline.Plans across organization team members' work and assigns tasks and monitors progress, generally in a matrix work environment.Manages problem resolution and risk mitigation.Ensures customers are actively engaged throughout the project. Works with customers to ensure business workflows are completed.Keeps the Epic leadership and project teams apprised through routine communication, reports and status updates to ensure the project plans and deliverables are met and potential risks are identified and resolved.Facilitates and participates in meetings with the Epic project team, leadership and stakeholders.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be available and plan to serve on this program for a minimum of four (4) years.Must be a current Trinity Health colleague with three (3) to five (5) years serving in a project manager role or a functional leadership role and have managed projects and/or experience as a consultant. Must have met or exceeded expectations on most recent performance evaluations.Bachelor's degree in healthcare, IT or related field or an equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.Master's degree preferred.Ability to learn Epic's software. Certification optional and preferred.Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing progressively complex projects and/or possess a comprehensive knowledge of healthcare management that may be acquired through direct industry experience or through consulting. Broad-based knowledge of clinical or revenue operations preferred.The work location is Livonia, Michigan. A project manager in this role must be willing to live locally and/or travel to be present on the work site in Livonia 80% of every week as determined by executive leadership upon selection.Project Management coursework or certification preferred.

Ability to develop, manage and monitor the overall implementation for a specific application team and/or area and to reinforce the importance of the project and provide consistent communication to application directors and application project teams.Ability to communicate to leadership regarding challenges and strategies for success.Ability to approach problems constructively by focusing on how to move the project forward.Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts.Ability to gain trust and establish effective relationships with Epic counterparts.Ability to show appreciation for overall collective team and individual team member efforts.Recognized and respected within the organization.Possess strong emotional intelligence and exercise sound judgment.Strong analytical abilities and the ability to assess and match organizational needs to the system's functionality.Ability to manage problem resolution, risk mitigation and to seek information from a variety of sources in order to effectively determine a problem and assist in developing a course of action for resolution.Ability to manage a project team at a detailed task and to reach established deadlines and adhere to them.Ability to commit to established timetables in order to ensure successful project outcomes.Must possess prior experience in process improvement, change leadership, and/or project management.Must be an effective consensus builder and collaborator, have excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills, and operate effectively in a highly collaborative environment.Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared team environment.Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Operates in a typical office environment. The area is well lit, temperature-controlled and free from hazards. Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the telephone, with people in a number of different locations on technical issues.Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications. Must be able to speak and communicate clearly and effectively.The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time and adapt to interruptions.Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs).Must be able to travel to various Trinity Health sites as needed. Workhours may include afterhours and weekends
