Responsibilities

The Executive Director, Employee Benefits. provides direction for all benefit initiatives undertaken for all employees and retirees of Wellstar Health System as well as Board of Trustees and Regional Board members. The position will design, administer, communicate, and deliver all benefit plans and programs including health and welfare, retirement (403(b), 457(b), 457(f)), pension, FMLA and all other benefits made available to Wellstar employees. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies and providing technical and administrative expertise in supporting these plans. In addition, the Executive Director is also accountable for evaluating current plans and those under review to make recommendations to Wellstar leadership to ensure the organization is receiving the most value and providing its employees with the best options available. This position will assist with the selection of Wellstar Health System benefits consultants, brokers and/or vendors and may participate on various benefit boards outside of Wellstar related to benefit programs Wellstar participates in through our relationship with Vizient and other vendors.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Accounting or a related field, significant experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Preferred Education: Master's degree

Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: None

Preferred Licensure/Certification: CEBS or similar designation

Required Minimum Experience: Experience: 8 - 10 years with Bachelor's degree; 15 or more without Bachelors. Significant experience in design, administration, and delivery of benefits in a large complex organization; significant knowledge of laws and regulations as related to providing benefits. Experience designing progressive and differentiated benefits offerings is a plus.

Required Minimum Skills: Strong financial and business background, significant analytical experience. Demonstrable knowledge of state-of-the-art thinking and practices in benefits design and administration; demonstrable ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing productive relationship with senior leaderships and line leaders across the System; solutions-oriented self-starter with a proactive and inquisitive nature who can anticipate and preempt problems; ability to interact easily across all levels within Wellstar and external vendors and providers; tactful; mature; flexible; strong planning, organization, delegation and decision-making abilities.
