The Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a standing faculty position in large animal reproduction, with a focus on equine reproduction. This position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Clinical Educator track and is expected to enhance the clinical, teaching and research missions of the Section of Reproduction and Behavior and the Hofmann Center for the Study of Animal Reproduction. New Bolton Center is home to six Diplomates of the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT), one Honorary Member of the ACT who is also a Board-Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, and two residents in a two-year program that fulfills the supervised training requirements for the ACT certifying examination.
The Hofmann Center accommodates an active in-house clinical reproduction practice supported by advanced technologies in mare reproductive management, diagnosis and treatment, stallion breeding soundness evaluation and management, embryo transfer, transvaginal follicle aspiration for oocyte recovery, and stallion and mare behavior evaluation and therapy. In addition to performing clinical service at the Hofmann Center, Section members work closely with the healthy and high-risk pregnancy and the neonatal intensive care programs and oversee reproductive emergency cases at New Bolton Center's Hospital for Large Animals. Section members also have the opportunity to provide on-farm equine reproductive management for elite breeding centers in the service area.
The ideal candidate will advance the academic missions of the School through their contributions to clinical service, research, and didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching of veterinary students and house officers.
