About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Field Application Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role provides pre-sales and post-sales field service for commissioning, warranty evaluation, repair, and technical support services for Automation products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical resource for troubleshooting, installation, startup, and commissioning of Automation WEG products.
  • Provides pre-sales support, as required, with key customers for proof of concept, product configuration, and integration into customer systems in coordination with the local sales team.
  • Serves as a technical resource for routine maintenance on various Automation WEG products.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance for the repair of Automation WEG products.
  • Provides Technical Product Training for internal personnel and customers.
  • Troubleshoot, rewrite, and program logic on machines.
  • Assists with warranty evaluation to determine whether a specific field service activity falls under a WEG warranty agreement.
  • Combines work efforts with Authorized Service Centers towards achieving the job specific objectives.
  • Exhibits effective customer service skills, projecting a positive corporate image to customers.
  • Upon completing activities at a customer site, effectively establishes expectations for any follow-up activities by negotiating timeline and scope of works.
  • Provides technical service report, expenses report and time sheets related to the services executed for billing and record purposes.
  • Provides back-up to the Repair Lab and technical support as needed.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:
  • High School diploma or GED. Certification from Technical school or Engineering degree or equivalent education is preferred.

Knowledge / training:
  • Use of diagnostic tools and equipment required.
  • Reading schematics and drawings required.
  • Low and High voltage Drives.
  • Process/control design for projects (PLC's, Networks, Drives, Instrumentation, control panels, etc.
  • Industrial applications such as Pumps, Fans, Conveyors, Compressors, Master and Slave, Etc.
  • Intermediate level of MS Office Suite required.

Experience:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
