Overview:

The Physician Assistant Program at Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for a Clinical Coordinator/Full-Time Clinical Faculty. This is a full-time, 12-month clinical (non-tenure-track)faculty position. Reporting to the Department Chair, the successful candidate will be responsible for both curricular and administrative aspects of the PA program. In this role, you will have the opportunity to maintain clinical practice hours.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

The primary responsibilities will be:

  • monitoring of student performance in the clinical year
  • conducting clinical site visits
  • evaluation of student learning, competencies, and progression
  • evaluation of site
  • development and maintenance of clinical sites
  • evaluation, analysis, and development of Physician Assistant clinical curriculum
  • coordination of the pre-clinical activities in the first year
  • site development, evaluation, and maintenance
  • student assignments and evaluation
  • monitoring logging of duty hours and patient experiences, clinical case logging, procedures, and diagnoses
  • review and revision of the handbook and policy manual
  • review of the syllabus, goals, and objectives in the courses that the pre-clinical is attached
  • education of the program expectations with the clinical site and preceptors
  • participation and coordination of PA department committees
  • participate in university service
  • additional responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair/Program Director
  • Teaching Load

    • Reduced load in teaching in the graduate program courses at the need of the department and discretion of the Department Chair/ Program Director

    Advising

    • a fairly distributed portion of the students in their clinical phase of the program
    • others as needed, at the discretion of the Department Chair/Program Director

    Education Requirements:

    • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program
    • Minimum of an earned Master's Degree

    Qualifications:

  • Proven clinical precepting and/or teaching experience

  • Current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in the State of Connecticut

  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a PA and experience in PA education is preferred
