Posting Summary:

As a member of the Division of Student Affairs' (DOSA) business management team, the HR Coordinator will provide support for human resource operations across the division including staff recruiting, onboarding, retention and separation process coordination, communications, file and data management, and project management. Reporting directly to the Business Operations Administrator for DOSA, this position will actively collaborate with business management staff across the division and participate in streamlining and improving business processes by conducting research, compiling materials, analyzing data and/or processes, and preparing reports. The HR Coordinator will strengthen staff recruitment by ensuring search chairs and committees have access to affirmative search and hiring best practices, procedures, policies, and compliance requirements; assisting with marketing and candidate sourcing; and providing logistical and administrative support for candidate screening and interviews. General administrative support for HR operations will include developing org charts, communication templates, tracking systems for various workflows, processing I-9s and other employment records, and some project management. The HR Coordinator will be a contact for current employees, prospective candidates, vendors, and UVM central administrative departments, as appropriate. All DOSA employees are responsible for promoting an inclusive environment and experience for students and employees of all races, ethnicities, religions, national origins, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages, and upholding the mission, philosophies, and priorities of DOSA and UVM.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in human resources, business, marketing, or related field, and one to three years of related experience required.
  • Must have general office operations experience including familiarity with equipment and procedures.
  • Proficient with productivity software (Microsoft Office), including intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet applications and data visualization.
  • Possess highly effective communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote belonging and positive (internal and external) customer experiences in a multicultural environment.
Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HR practices, particularly affirmative hiring, general recruitment strategies and candidate assessment, desirable.
  • Experience developing and delivering training, desirable
Special Conditions:

Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy
