Position Overview

The HR Data Lead will focus on providing strategic insights about Novelis' human capital through workforce metrics, data analytics and dashboards to help drive business decisions. The incumbent will build a global data source for all HR analytics and will identify trends and patterns within data, enabling HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to improve workforce decisions and inform talent initiatives. This role will support the global HR organization, regions and COEs spanning Compensation, Talent and Leadership Development, Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Effectiveness and Talent Acquisition.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop and Maintain a data warehouse for HR data, feeding HR information from multiple systems: Core, Compensation, payroll, talent, time and attendance
    • Collaborate with IT digital and enterprise architecture teams to design the HR data WH
    • Define data sources such as HRIS (for example: Core HR, performance, compensation), employee survey, exit interviews etc.
    • Define the optimal way to collect data from multiple systems and develop system connectivity
    • Use data management and analysis tools to gather, clean and organize HR data
    • Build & maintain the HR data repository
  • Design, build, and deliver dashboards that enable the business to monitor and analyze trends in people data
    • Summarize workforce data to understand engagement, turnover, retention drivers, workforce diversity, job evolution, future workforce readiness, future leader readiness, internal talent market health, and knowledge and skills gaps
    • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business requirements
    • Effectively communicate to projects' stakeholders
    • Create documentation for information systems projects
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, HR Leadership and CoE teams to conduct people analytics projects, identifying meaningful insights to proactively share with leadership
    • Identify, research, and analyze trends and data patterns to inform business decisions regarding strategic workforce planning and organizational effectiveness
    • Use data and analytics to identify areas of the business with critical gaps or potential workforce risks (i.e. critical retirees, technical knowledge gaps, underdeveloped talent pipelines and succession plans, etc.)
    • Apply predictive analytics to provide insights to strategic projects related to talent attraction, retention, and development Develop compelling data visualizations to effectively tell the story with data and analytics, delivered through formal presentations in PowerPoint
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, or related field
  • Data Science/Advanced analytics degree or certification
  • 4-6 years demonstrated work experience in an analytical role including design and build of data warehouse
  • Prior role(s) in People Analytics or Strategic Workforce Planning preferred
  • Ability to conduct highly complex analyses and incorporate data from multiple sources to identify insights and trends.
  • Ability to tell a compelling story with data.
  • Strong consulting, relationship building, influencing, and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Must have strong business acumen, with the ability to decipher business needs and ask questions to uncover core issues.
  • Advanced MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to create and maintain Power BI reports, models, dataset, dataflow, etc.
  • Proficient with SQL
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle extremely confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to positively manage change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to seek additional projects and multi-task with changing priorities, as necessary
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess the capability to interpret information received from systems, to develop KPIs combining data from multiple systems, bringing best practices and serving as a data analytics subject matter expert
  • Desire to take initiative and develop pro-active relationships with customers & suppliers (internal & external) through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Solid understanding of HR principles, techniques, and procedures, as well as how HR supports business implications preferred
  • Statistics expertise preferred
