Position Overview

Novelis is currently seeking an IT Business Applications Lead who will work as a key part of the Business Functions IT team to ensure that applications are deployed efficiently within the business and in line with IT standards. The role reports directly to the Director IT Business Relationship Management supporting the global functions of Research & Technology, Procurement, Sales, and Strategy. The job holder will be responsible for identifying and scoping technical requirements, architecting and implementing cost-effective solutions, and managing development and maintenance of all identified systems from the business units and stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ownership of one or more applications
  • Overall ownership of application features and will drive IT teams in the administration, support, and enhancements of each systems
  • Stay abreast of, and plan for, technology changes as applicable to the solution landscape and industry standard methodologies with a focus on continuous learning in such areas
  • Build, design and deliver high quality, scalable, and resilient business solutions
  • Identify internal customer requirements and implement technical features, functionality, and reporting to meet those requirements
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and that are in line with the solution's strategic roadmap
  • Effectively scope projects, write clear and concise use case documentation, and manage projects to successful completion on time and on budget
  • Implement, document and enforce governance model, best practices, and standards
  • Utilize best practices in technical analysis
  • Collaborate with project managers to follow project Agile/ITIL methodology
  • Work with business function's teams to support day-to-day use of applications and tools
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development of new and existing applications.
  • Liaison with development team, architects, project managers and vendors for each project
  • Resolves user issues related to workflow, content and applications; provides support for user learning and engagement with solutions
  • Work with suppliers and customers to ensure that existing applications are optimized to meet business needs
  • Understand the strategy and/or business landscape of each function supported to best meet their needs
  • Work with suppliers and customers to implement new applications or new modules within existing applications
  • Manage and plan a schedule for the safe introduction of new releases/patches to meet service requirements, keeping in mind the optimal timing for users
  • Works with internal customers to develop testing and validation scripts and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT Team to ensure that interfaces with other applications and third-party products work
  • Develop rapport and constructive, effective relationships with all key stakeholders both inside and outside the organization
  • Manages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of IT business analysis
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Corporate enterprise applications (ERP, Quality, reporting systems, etc)
  • Proven working knowledge of the SDLC models/methodologies, IT systems and their direct implementation to projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the strategic and tactical/implementation levels
  • Experience leading diverse teams, directly or indirectly, with demonstrated ability to organize and directwork
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Experience in application delivery with on-time & on-budget solutions.
  • Experience working across a global organization and across multiplefunctions
  • Relationship-building, ability to listen, build rapport, and gain trust
  • Strong understanding of process improvements and problem solving
  • Operates with customer focus, diplomacy, and sense of urgency
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with all levels of the organization
  • Ability toleadby example and engage/influence peers and team members to support tasks or projects
  • Be collaborative and to encouragecollaborationamong others
  • Strong writing, speaking and presentingskills
  • Business acumen of functions atcorporate/regionallevels
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while balancing priorities across multiple areas

  • Ability to travel as necessary, and perform additional job-related duties as requested

Preferred Qualifications
  • Agile (Scrum Master) or PMP certifications
