SUMMARY

Lead all aspects of Machine Shop operations and support all employees under his/her leadership. Makes effective use of resources and staff, approved processes, and inventory to manufacture and deliver machined products which meet or exceed company standards and goals. Supervises and develops the Machine Shop Lead's and production employees on all shifts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Accountable to the MS Manager and responsible for all aspects of Machine Shop operations including; shop safety, budget control, employee selection, evaluation, training/qualification and discipline, work processes, production, inventory control, quality control, maintenance, and special projects.
* Develop, implement and oversee the Machine Shop personnel training and qualification program to ensure a flexible work force with skills required for current and anticipated future production work. Coach and mentor the machine shop team through personal example and instruction.
* Define, develop and implement quality manufacturing processes.
* Create, foster and support through personal example; teamwork, a safe, positive work environment and a culture of continuous process improvement.
* Employ trained employees, approved processes and methods of continuous process improvement to:

* Maximize Safety Quality On Time Delivery Cost (SQDC).

* Ensure safety first through training, awareness, teamwork and continuous vigilance.
* Meet and exceed quality goals and metrics.
* Execute schedule attainment plan.
* Control cost with effective overtime and budget management.
* Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
* Meet or exceed productivity goals.
* Minimize and reduce manufacturing lead time.
* Minimize equipment downtime.
* Utilize 5s to manage by exception and provide a safe, clean and orderly work environment.

* Support product development, special projects and new business opportunities thorough cost vs. benefit analysis prior to implementing a change in processes or equipment upgrades. Be alert for "High Potential" opportunities.

Physical Demands:

* Combined sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day to accomplish tasks.
* Ability to sit or stand for long periods when performing and reporting on tasks
* Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching or stooping on a daily basis.
* Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision of all machine shop personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * High school graduate with 8-10 years' machine shop experience/2 years' production supervision experience or,
* Vocation school (machine trades) graduate with 5-7 years' machine shop experience/2 years' production supervision experience or,
* College graduate (engineering or manufacturing field) with 2-3 years engineering or manufacturing experience/2 years' production supervision experience.
* Demonstrate a sound understanding of Carlisle policies and management practices.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and effectiveness using the English language both writing and orally. These include communication and presenting to Factory Leadership Team and the occasional visit to the Machine Shop
* Demonstrate proficiency employing networked PCs using Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ERP/MRP software systems such as SAP.
* Demonstrate aplomb under pressure, flexibility and resourcefulness as required in adapting to changing work load or unanticipated organizational requirements.
* Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of applicable State/Federal Laws and Regulations.
* Demonstrate ability to lead operations independently and ability to prioritize, organize and delegate task and authority to subordinates as required to meet workload and production requirements.
* Demonstrate prudence in reporting to management.
* Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance.
* Demonstrate good judgment in all matters personal and professional.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

SALARY INFORMATION:

According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between minimum of $66,560 annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
