RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a leading, privately held industrial distributor, is seeking a Manager of Accounting in Flushing, NY. In this role, the Manager of Accounting will report to CFO, manage the functional areas of accounting, financial reporting and control, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and audit management information.Duties Include:
  • In this role, the Manager of Accounting will assist with accounting systems, budget planning and implementation, risk management and insurance, taxation, short- and long-term forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Contribute to company's short- and long-range planning, identifying areas of possible growth, expansion, and new profit opportunities
  • Manage preparation of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and capital budgets
  • Oversee insurance function to assure company's assets are safeguarded from all possible exposure
  • Establish internal systems to support financial and business operations consistent with the company's growth and reporting requirements
  • The Manager of Accounting will review and monitor the financial position; Creates and distributes necessary reports on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth
  • Manage and coordinate the establishment and maintenance of budget programs inclusive of Inventory, Sales and Overhead; Manages and coordinates annual report preparation and issuance
  • Manage tax reporting programs
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop staff; Manage schedules and workflow
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; Actively works to promote and recognize performance; Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
  • As a Manager of Accounting, you will work with Sales manager to develop and overseas commission and sales incentive systems


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5-10 years of experience in related wholesale, manufacturing, or distribution business
  • Inventory exposure in a high SKU count environment
  • Experience in Inventory Budgeting, Management and Audit/Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports
  • Proven managerial and business acumen skills; Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational skills; Able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • ERP system utilization a plus
