Manager of Marketing Communications
Diverse and talented marketing communications professionals are encouraged toapply for a Manager of Marketing Communications position on the Marketing &Communications team at Columbus State Community College. The Manager ofMarketing Communications will be responsible for supporting marketing andcommunications outreach that tells the story of Columbus State's distinctiveoffer of smart, affordable, career-relevant pathways to high-quality higher education forall students at every stage of life and career. Reporting to the Director ofMarketing, this individual willfocus primarilyon marketing efforts that support grant/philanthropic investment advancingstudent success outcomes while also supporting community-facing engagementbrand management within and beyond Central Ohio and serving related marketingneeds of various partners across the College.
The ideal candidate will be an experiencedwriter and communicator across multiple marketing channels; have experience ona creative team collaborating with other designers, writers, and contentcreators; be comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines to deliverthem within scope and budget; give and receive feedback constructively; and, ofcourse, be passionate about creative work! Accountability, collaboration, and theability to maintain strong relationships with College colleagues are essential.

You're a strong writer and communicator who naturally works across channels,especially in the web and digital spaces. You're adept at implementingmarketing communications plans with lots of moving parts, always driving todeliver the right message to the right audience at the right time.
You're part copywriter, content creator, communicator, brand manager, taskmaster,and project manager who has experience working on an in-house creative team andknows how to manage multiple projects end to end.
You're as comfortable generating ideas as you are executing them from conceptto completion collaboratively with your creative teammates. And you're alwayslooking for ways to innovate and improve.
You're a relationship manager who serves as an extension of the Marketing andCommunications division to engage College partners, understand their needs,connect them back to marketing goals, and implement solutions that serve bothends.
You're an eagle-eye proofreader with outstanding copywriting and copyeditingabilities.

Under the guidance of theMarketing Director,
Marketing Communications Planning & Implementation - 35%
Collaborate with Advancement to implement marketing communications plans andoutputs that build awareness among relevant external funding audiences anddrive grant and philanthropic investment. Assist in the brainstorming process,generate original, on-brand content for multiple marketing platforms,communicate effectively with target audiences, collaborate with graphicdesigners to manage layout and visual identity, and coordinate with the digitalteam to optimize conversions and integration within the web and other digitalplatforms. Regularly assess messaging and other marketing outputs to ensurethey communicate effectively with relevant audiences.
Writing & Content Creation - 35%
Create and edit original copy that is accurate, well-researched, on-brand, andon time. Assist in other aspects of the creative or research processes tocreate cohesive and accurate content for websites, social media, email,marketing materials, and other platforms. Actively engage in weekly CreativeTeam meetings. Constructively give and receive creative feedback on concepts,art, design, copy, brainstorming, and idea generation for marketing campaigns,deliverables, and opportunities. Review former campaigns and communications to determineareas of strength and weakness to continually improve outputs.
Relationship and Brand Management - 20%
Collaborate with College partners to anticipate and respond to marketingrequests with emphasis on investment revenue retention and attraction toamplify student success. Meet with cross-functional partners to gatherinformation and assess job requests, serving as the marketing, brand, andwriting expert who makes recommendations. Understand and articulate marketinggoals to colleagues and partners to inform campaign objectives, understand the audience,and create compelling content for multiple marketing and communication channels.Ensure the College name and image are projected according to brand standardsand in a positive manner. Serve as the dedicated writer and Marketing liaisonfor various departments and on College committees.
Marketing Project Management - 10%
Coordinate with key partners and the Marketing & Communications team toensure high-quality, effective content that's on-brand, connects with diverseand targeted audiences, and is integrated across media channels. Traffic andcoordinate assigned jobs, including opening new jobs in the department projectdatabase, scheduling kick-off meetings, creating timelines, and managingdeadlines. Manage projects in order to deliver them on-brand, within the scope,and within budget throughout the project lifecycle. Will work outside of regularoffice hours as necessary to meet workload demands.

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or related writing field and three to five years of experience as a full-time writer, marketing communications professional, or related role. A diverse portfolio of work demonstrating an ability to write both short and long-form copy to a variety of audiences for a variety of marketing channels is also required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Higher Ed and experience implementing marketing and communication plans, project management, and hands-on experience with Content Management Systems in a higher-ed setting preferred.
