Job Description Summary

This regular full-time (40 hours) Project Manager (PM) position entails administrative duties including hiring and overseeing several research coordinators; management of randomized controlled trials, primarily focused on transplant research; diverse data collection/analysis, both qualitative and quantitative; and contributing to current and future areas of scientific inquiry.

The Reese Lab's research involves developing strategies to increase kidney and liver donation, and also optimizing outcomes for solid organ recipients, as well as behavioral health trials. This regular full-time (40 hours) Project Manager (PM) position entails administrative duties including hiring and overseeing several research coordinators; management of randomized controlled trials, primarily focused on transplant research; diverse data collection/analysis, both qualitative and quantitative; and contributing to current and future areas of scientific inquiry. Responsibilities will include both strategic planning and day to day management of complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to Penn. With oversight from the Principal Investigator, the PM will take a leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, reviewing and in some cases performing analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with partner organizations, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal.
The PM will have responsibility for extensive regulatory responsibilities, including developing IRB submissions (and close-outs) for complex protocols. He will assist the PI in supporting the training of the PI's mentees, by advising them on feasibility of studies using available data in the lab and aiding with regulatory issues. He/she/they will help further develop the team's research strategy and will have ample opportunities to lead projects and co-author papers. Will also need to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, provide supervision to educators and teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborates with peers from other Universities and funding agencies. Will be responsible for coordinating grant applications and interacting with funding administrators and the Business Office. Individual must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite, comfortable with a range of relevant smart-phone applications, and very computer literate. There will be some schedule flexibility and independence, but the individual must be available at certain times during a typical workday (9am-5pm). Remote-work will be possible during some periods.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical ability; excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail; flexibility; and comfort with working independently. He/she/they must provide significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination. Will play a primary role in other dissemination activities related to project findings. The individual hired will work in a collegial environment and work directly with a small team including physicians, transplant professionals, other managers, research coordinators, and students.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
