Our Kwikset and Weiser brands have been on the forefront of technological trends over time through product introductions like PowerBolt™ (the first electronic deadbolt in retail), Kevo™ (the first touch-to-open, Bluetooth electronic deadbolt) and Halo Touch™ (wi-fi biometric deadbolt). The Director of Marketing, Electronics Security Hardware is a newly created role-reporting to the Divisional Vice President of this $1B Security Segment-who will partner with cross-functional leaders to transform the marketing function and overall electronics business into a world-class security and consumer electronics leader. This person will have direct responsibility for the technology & product roadmap, product development and execution, along with broader channel and customer strategies across retail and wholesale segments. They will use data and consumer insights to set goals for the platform, gather requirements and build great product experiences for our users. We are looking for someone who has an obsessive focus on execution and product quality, to meet and ultimately exceed the expectations of our customers. More broadly, this highly visible role will work in a matrix environment to set direction and influence the long-term strategic direction of the electronics business. Monitor competitive products and marketing activities. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners. Develop relationships with key sales leaders and customer principals to help manage key accounts. Communicates VOC and needs back to the business. Manage and direct a business development leader to cultivate new channel, partner, technology, M&A opportunities. Participate in analysis and due diligence necessary to expand the business through mergers/acquisitions. (50%) Portfolio Strategy, Product Development Oversee a broad product portfolio, consisting of stand-alone and connected electronic door hardware that work in both native branded and partner applications, and are broadly distributed across mass retail, onmi-channel, DTC service providers, single and multi-family home builders, etc. Leverage dotted line reporting structure with engineering and operations to inspire technology leadership, speed, quality and high UI/UX in our product launches. Position HHI brands to beat all challengers within residential security. Engage cross-functional teams (engineering, sourcing, supply chain, finance) across multiple on-going product development projects to ensure goals and timelines are met. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define, refine and improve our product vision and value proposition. Evaluate market trends, product industry and competition strategies to provide recommendations on product pricing and positioning Drive channel strategies based on unique market and customer requirements. Engage brand and channel marketing teams to influence commercialization efforts such as omni-channel marketing, social, PR, digital and conventional advertising. Work with marketing, sales, finance and other business partners on promotional plans to ensure that strategies are coordinated. Develop talent: build and mentor a high performing organization capable of successfully driving initiatives across the company. Recruit, develop, coach and counsel a strong product marketing team; develop team accountability and performance expectations. (10%) Transformation Management Help create and finalize structural, work process, and capability plans for the electronics business unit Oversee the implementation of the annual operating and longer-term strategic plans according to stated objectives. Responsibility for aggressive growth targets in a sector with a 15%+ CAGR.
