Job Summary:

The Hershey Company's Information Services (IS) department, partnering with our sales team serves as a catalyst for achieving the corporation's strategic objectives by leveraging insights and innovation through technology. To help meet these objectives, the Manager will lead and own the technical roadmap and architecture for technology solutions and processes driving our capabilities supporting retail and sales. This includes key capabilities including the overall Retail Execution platform, SalesForce.com CRM, Solution integration, Sales Planning & Communications solutions, Retail analytics, and new capabilities to drive Hershey's competitive advantage.

Summary of major duties:

1. Lead and manage the solution architecture, definition, and technology operations supporting our Retail and Sales organization managed in an Agile delivery format. This includes:

  • Aligned with solution managers, lead the technology architecture for Hershey's capabilities support the sales team.
  • Working together with solution managers and the development team, define and own the technology roadmap for the platforms and applications supporting the sales team.
  • Participate in solution scoping and requirements discussions, ensuring teams are following best-pactices and making decisions that will not have broader impacts elsewhere.
  • Coordinate the setup and maintenance for our technology landscape with Hershey's corporate IS teams including Web Operations, Security, Mulesoft Center of Excellence Architecture Review Board, and more.
  • Define a framework and operating model for supporting the introduction of DevOps into the development and continuous improvement of Hershey's technology solutions supporting sales.
  • Own the day-to-day technology operations for Hershey's sales solutions, directing and escalating resources where necessary to ensure service levels are met.
  • Demonstrating thought leadership, introduce new concepts leveraging technology to drive Hershey's competitive advantage at retail.

2. Lead team a team of developers and provide coaching and support for technical and architectural vision and day-to-day development. Manage and coach team members to meet their goals, development plans, and potential for the future at Hershey.

3. Management of external contract resources including planning, procuring, allocation, and work assignment. Validation of contract resource execution and deliverables.

4. Manage status communications with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other internal stakeholders.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5-7 years leading technology solution and project delivery including scoping, design, execution and delivery end-to-end.
  • 5-7 years leading technology and solution architecture for solutions including multiple SaaS platforms, API design using Web Services, web and mobile frameworks for applications, while leveraging complex data structures from multiple BI environments.
  • 4+ years in assessing new technology platforms and applications and utilizing Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • 4+ standing up processes and teams to support DevOps automation for the support and optimization of continuous software development and deployment.
  • 5+ years of relational database experience (SQL) and document database experience (MongoDB or similar).
  • 5+ years directly leading and coaching developers and analysts.
  • 5+ years leading and managing technology solution partners and managed service providers.
  • Ability to frame up and simplify complex issues, finding root causes and hidden problems. Ability to think holistically and understand the broader implications of introducing changes to a landscape of interconnected, intelligent systems.
  • Ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision in a flexible work environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience leading and working within an Agile methodology and team, including user story and acceptance criteria development and working with sprints
