Basic Job Functions:

The Nucor Steel Indiana/ IVY Tech Electrical Maintenance Program is designed to teach maintenance fundamentals and train a person with a high school diploma (or GED) to the level of a maintenance electrical technician within a two-year training period. The training program is a compilation of education, culture, ideas, and current training programs that exist throughout Nucor. This training provides the necessary classroom instruction and includes structured hands-on training to ensure the person is prepared to enter the workforce as an Electrical Technician. Responsibilities will include hands on assignments working with experienced Nucor Maintenance Team Members while maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Training Program Requirements:

• Minimum age to apply is 18.
• Current high school transcript (2.75 GPA preferred) including ACT, SAT, Accuplacer scores, or Ivy Tech Transcripts, if applicable.
• One-page essay explaining how your work history, activities, or other interests make you a good candidate for this training program. Include your career or educational goals.

• Interested candidates must also complete a separate application to IVY Tech Community College.
