Posting Summary:

Provide first response service for all building/utility trades equipment and systems (i.e. emergency calls and service calls): assess situation, complete repairs, or contact appropriate personnel if situation mandates licensed repairs. Perform preventative maintenance service for all building trades. Access information utilizing computer programs. Promote a work place that encourages safety within the shop and in the field. Operate a University vehicle. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. Report to a Zone Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

High school diploma and three years of experience/training in the HVAC/plumbing and electrical trades required. Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments in assessing and planning work required. Computer skills to obtain information necessary to input and access mechanical data required. Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain, and driver's check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing specific job tasks. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.

Special Conditions:

Weekend work required, Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, Occasional overtime/weekend hours required, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, 2nd Shift (Shift differential applies.), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week
