The Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship (IFITS) is a small but mighty team dedicated to helping all students and faculty thrive as scholars. Job Summary/Basic Function:
Supports Academic and/or Administrative units, including through the use of data and university reports and systems. Responsible for promoting the full use of system features to improve unit efficiency and effectiveness.
Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the Operations Manager must:
• Manage the administrative and business functions of the office including the support of multiple externally funded grants. Troubleshoot and implement the various business processes that are needed to support a data-driven decision-making culture.
• Develop and maintain positive, collaborative, respect-based relationships with co-workers, clients, and stakeholders both internal and external.
• Flexibility in adapting to a fast-changing environment to meet the needs of the department and priorities of the university. Work with supervisor to develop a professional development plan with annual goals to accomplish the plan. Actively pursue excellence, effectiveness, and efficiency.

35% of the time:

• Serve as the front desk "face of the office" with a customer-service attitude and mindset, serving as the initial point of contact for the office providing resources to our stakeholders.
• Support IFITS staff in all events programming needs - including event coordination and execution of details to run successful small and large-scale events.
• Manage the IFITS office facilities including communication with campus facilities as needed
• Be an active member of the small but mighty IFITS team, contributing ideas and efforts to all of the office activities and initiatives
• Troubleshoot processes and systems as needed
• Manage IFITS HR duties including hiring and onboarding new staff members and student workers

5% Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in training others
• Advanced computer skills
• Ability to effectively work and communicate with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in higher education
• Accounting or other financial work experience
• Experience building and nurturing relationships both within an office and across units
• Ability to both work independently and collaboratively
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Able to be flexible and to manage multiple priorities
• Project management experience and skills
Salary and Benefits:
