Job Summary
The CAC Ceramic Studio is looking for a knowledgeable ceramics studio technician to keep up operations of the studio including equipment, materials, chemicals, and kiln firings with clean and safe practices. As part of the Art Department, the studio technician works with studio members, students and instructors and reports to the ceramic's professor. Part-time position work up to 19 hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesESSSENTIAL DUTIES
- Electric Kiln firing
- Downdraft gas kiln firing
- Kiln loading
- Glaze calculation, testing, and mixing
- Clay recycling and mixing
- Materials management
- Maintains and repairs electric kilns
- Maintaining and Cleaning kiln shelves
- Cleaning the studio (clay traps, kiln yard, materials shed etc.)
Experience: One year of applicable experience
Salary: $16.58 per hour - up to 19 hours per week
