Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Operates mostly routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
  • Performs mostly routine activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced.
  • Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs mostly basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Follow safety regulations.
  • Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality, SQF and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
  • Ensures operations are completed in accordance with safety procedures and ensures team members are working in a safe manner and identifies and corrects unsafe work practices.
  • Ensures plant quality standards are being met and maintained by the department.
  • Controls the process of multiple blow mold machines using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.
  • Evaluates and improves operator's skill level and assist in training operators.
  • Troubleshoots and performs adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions.
  • Assists with machine setups.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Reviews process data daily to ensure department is meeting or exceeding efficiency requirements.
  • Completes downtime reports and error logs.
  • Effectively communicates issues to the supervisor, maintenance technicians and operations manager.
  • Operates machines and completes all duties of the machine operator in their absence.
  • Maintain a commitment to promote a respectful and productive team environment; assist and train others as needed, help with break coverage.
  • Ensures the department maintains a clean work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
  • Solid understanding of the production equipment.
