Required:Master's degree required. Minimum three years of administrative experience in higher
education required. Three years of experience with direct management of federal grant
programs required. Computer literacy required, including intermediate-level knowledge of
word processing, database, presentation, spreadsheet, and email applications. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent relationship building skills. Philosophical commitment to promoting academic achievement for Hispanic, low-income, and other traditionally
underrepresented populations.
Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director.
Master's degree in a STEM field. At least five years of administrative experience in higher
education. Experience with Department of Education Hispanic-serving programs. Bilingual
(English/Spanish).
The LoboTrack Project Director will be expected to have experience working on Federally
funded projects, preferably including previous Department of Education funded grant projects. They will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the success of the project, including
implementing the activities, coordinating with the Department of Education Program Officer, maintaining appropriate and up-to-date knowledge of strategies for success, and
communicating the successes and challenges of the project to university administrators and
external stakeholders.
Duties:
Provide overall leadership for and direct all aspects of the Lobo Track project. Effectively
manage project staff to achieve objectives. Communicate an informed understanding of HSI
STEM and Articulation Program objectives to all constituencies of the university. Coordinate
activities that facilitate effective use of program resources, including personnel, authorizing
expenditures, budget control, etc. Assume responsibility for appropriate use of funds and
establish expenditure procedures. Facilitate meeting of the Lobo Track advisory teams. Remain informed regarding Department of Education policies and grant terms/conditions. Ensure
adherence to all applicable district, state, and Federal requirements. Oversee preparation of
required fiscal and performance reports. Supervise progress on achievement of project goals
and objectives. Facilitate institutionalization of practices and improvements where applicable. Coordination with Institutional Research and Effectiveness and Evaluation Team to ensure
completion of evaluation plan.
Working Conditions Usual: Office conditions; standard hours. Position is Security Sensitive.
Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
