SUMMARY

The Public Health Analyst - Program Assurance provides technical assistance and support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Immunization Information System (IIS) cooperative agreement activities and emerging initiatives.

The primary focus of this position is to support IIS subject matter experts in the execution of cooperative agreement implementation activities including budget review, site visits, and awardee jurisdiction progress implementing various IIS initiatives at the national level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews and analyzes awardee jurisdiction plans as they pertain to implementation of cooperative agreement core competencies.

Distributes regular communications to awardee jurisdiction on IIS initiatives and ongoing cooperative agreement activities.

Supports individual awardee jurisdiction site visits including preparation for site visits. Takes notes, prepares minutes, and documents action items list following meeting.

Maintains current and up-to-date information on IIS activities and emerging initiatives.

Provides operational support to workgroups and to regularly scheduled calls with awardee jurisdictions. Drafts notes and follow-up items. Assembles answers to commonly asked questions into fact sheets (i.e.,FAQ's).

Reviews and implements updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various cooperative agreement and IIS operations related activities.

Supports emerging program needs and priorities to include emergency response events.

Provides offsite assistance through the use of distance technologies.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole.Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Master's degree preferred.A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a focus on a major field of study in health or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position and previous experience working in a public health setting. Immunization program experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Knowledge of CDC mission and related regulations / guidelines.

Knowledge of current legislative and regulatory environment pertaining to the CDC.

Knowledge and understanding of the business processes across regulatory functional areas.

Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.,Access, Excel, Word, Outlook).

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess business requirements.

Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at a senior management level.

Excellent written communication skills with advanced technical writing proficiency.

Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.

Ability to travel, on occasion.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
