SARSTEDT, a leading manufacturer and distributor of blood collection and medical devices, laboratory consumables and instrumentation, seeks a Quality Control Technician for its US Headquarter.
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm (Monday - Friday)
Department: Quality Control
Summary
Provides support in all areas of Quality Assurance/ Quality Control functions to ensure internal and external compliance requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs in back-up role to visually inspect and measure molded articles using calipers, indicator gages, go/no-go gages, and/or an optical comparator for routine production release. Communicates defects found during production release testing to management and appropriate production staff.
Assist with Quality and Production Calibration measurement equipment.
Responsible for scheduling QC calibrations services and maintaining calibration records.
Responsible for melt flow testing of raw material.
Responsible for ordering all QC supplies and maintaining records.
Responsible for Pest Control and scheduling services.
Responsible for QC/QA shipments.
Responsible for sending daily customer COAs.
Responsible for sterilization reconciliation and release of sterilized products.
Performs air sampling, bioburden, particle counting, Pyrogen testing and other laboratory testing/duties as required.
Prepares samples and shipments of product for external testing (Biochem, Dose audits).
Prepares daily and monthly Quality statistical reports in a timely manner.
Maintains all required training, quality and procedural records on the Company's document control system.
Assists in training of revised procedural company records.
Assists with internal audits as requested.
Maintains product labeling system to ensure proper product identification.
Assist in QC daily leak, centrifuge, comparator testing and packing line QC inspections.
Maintain a clean and neat work area.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred. One to two years related experience and/or training in quality control required. Internal auditor certificates a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software; Microsoft Word Processing software, Power Point and AS/400 programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to measure and interpret dimensions using the metric system. Experience in managing multiple priorities on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
