SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector will report to the Quality Supervisor and be responsible for performing visual inspection of injection molded parts and sub-assemblies, to ensure that all product meets the established specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Inspects materials and products, for conformance to specifications, using fixed or preset measuring instruments. Samples and tests receiving, first article, in-process, and finished products
* After measuring samples, inspectors compare their findings against customer and/or company standards. If a problem exists, inspectors suggest changes in production methods.
* Ensures materials and products are in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality and performance and are not irregular or damaged. Accepts or rejects the products inspected.
* Provides quality service to deliver defect-free, competitive products to customers on schedule and to their requirements meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations
* Document inspection activities and provide required input to supervisor and other personnel
* Maintain accurate records and data of the findings
* Performs duties to ensure adherence with the Quality Manual Procedures for QC Department

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety toed shoes, and hand protection.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 1-3 years of quality inspection experience and plastic injection molding experience is required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* None

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

* Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

JOB SKILLS

* Minimum of 1-3 years of quality inspection experience. Plastic Injection molding experience is required
* Good communication and written skills
* Good eyesight
* Ability to read blueprints
* Knowledge of standard inspection and test equipment (i.e. SPC, CMM, Optical Comparator)
