GENERAL SUMMARY

Clinical Research Coordinator will work under the Medical Director of the BWH Crohn's and Colitis Center, Dr. Jessica Allegretti MD, MPH, on various projects including both clinical and translational research studies. CRC will also get the oppurtunity to work with various clinicians in the Crohn's and Colitis Center and will assist with the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Biobank. They will be responsible for individual studies under a principle investigator and will run study visits with participants, communicate with the IRB/Sponsor, handle study documents and complete data entry. They will be responsible for sample handling and processing. Excellent communication (oral and wirtten), phone, and computer skills are necessary. Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides assistance on clinical research studies per study guidelines and protocols.
  • Creates and implements recruitment strategies for studies.
  • Recruits, evaluates, and enrolls patients into clinical research studies.
  • Obtains biological samples (human tissue) from patients in the hospital.
  • Maintain and monitor IBD Biobank
  • Collecting data and maintaining patient information database for studies. Performs quality assurance checks for all clinical data.
  • Work with Institutional Review Board to maintain protocol approval and current regulatory documentation.
  • Assists study investigators with conferences and manuscript preparation, and any other data-related tasks.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications
    QUALIFICATIONS

    BA / BS Degree

    SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills required for working with study participants and multiple PIs.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues, and to interpret the acceptability of data results.
    • High degree of computer literacy.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
    • Careful attention to detail.
    • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects rights and individual needs.
