The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to human gene expression and tissue development, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literature and prepare manuscripts and grant preparations, and present research findings in national and international meetings.
