JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a Research Associate to help the Protein Research efforts for our next generation sequencing technology development. The successful candidate will have experience in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology techniques. Activities will generally be routine in nature requiring minimal discretion and under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintaining clean laboratory environments, which will include general housekeeping
  • Reagent handling and aliquoting
  • Aid in protein production in a lab setting following standard operating procedures with appropriate record keeping
  • Perform Protein QC assays and data analysis
  • Test and troubleshoot assay development and QC methods
  • Analyze, report, and present experimental results
  • Give workflow feedback
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:
  • Requires a B.S. in Bioengineering , Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology or equivalent training/experience.
  • 2 years' experience (academic setting acceptable), preferred.
  • Hands-on biochemistry and molecular biology techniques such as SDS-Page Gel, Buffer preparation, PCR.
  • Analysis of large sequencing data sets highly desirable but not necessary
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Problem solver with a desire to fix by conducting literature searches and analysis
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with team members and cross functional groups
