What you will do

The Senior Mixing and Chem Weigh Supervisor is responsible for managing production personnel to maximize quality and output in a manufacturing operation. They are also accountable for achieving production targets, while maintaining cost controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible to Lead/ Participate and take decisions about Manufacturing Platform and Chem Weigh (CW), in Operational Governance Meetings (Daily, Planning, Hypercare, Union, etc.)

• Dotted-line leadership of 2nd and 3rd Shift, packaging Team Leaders.

• Lead Chem Weigh Operation specialist

• Share relevant information and action plans discussed in Operational Governance Meetings with 2nd and 3rd Shift packaging Team Leaders.

• Overtime management for all shifts in manufacturing Platforms and Chem Weigh

• Decision making in Planning Operational Governance Meetings based on available crewing.

• Implementation of Training Masterplan Strategy, across all shifts.

• Mixing and Chem Weigh Adherence (100%) to Kenvue Operational Excellence Standards and requirements such as Operation Procedures, Platform Cleanings, Quality Investigations , EHSS metrics, corrections, CAPAS, preventive maintenance and calibrations,

• Responsible for Daily, weekly and Monthly schedule to Mixing and Chem Weigh

• Execution of Root Cause Problem Solving (simple and complex) when performance targets are not met, Batch Cycle time, Quality Investigations ,during special cause situations, etc.

• Champion correct documentation and reconciliation of all Process Orders.

• People management, according with best capability and performance, to run each Personal Care Mixing and CW department.

• Provide coaching and feedback to the personnel in all 3 shifts (direct reports and peers, as needed).

• Supervise Mixing and CW on all 3 shifts Operations and work to meet production targets, internal and external customer needs & expectations for quality, timeliness and cost. This includes colleagues and activities that are expected to result in the output of goods and services related to the operation of Manufacturing Platforms and Chem Weigh departments.

• Establish personnel schedules and maintain production order schedules based on business needs.

• Scheduling and execution of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration activities for Mixing and Chem Weigh.

• Provide input to production flow and identify potential manufacturing issues.

• Compile and submit data for production and operating reports.

• Train staff in safety and quality. Lead activities in a way that protects the health and safety of all colleagues and complies with all regulatory policies and procedures.

• Create a work environment that embraces change by providing the leadership necessary to implement and execute goals to meet business requirements.

• Review work to ensure compliance with standards.

• Serve as a liaison between hourly colleagues and other leaders at the site. Understand and ensure adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• Communicate operational information appropriately and in a timely manner. Escalate when required and in accordance with standard process.

• Ensure training is completed in accordance with Quality expectations.

• Recommend changes to standard operational and working practices. Provide the leadership necessary to develop and implement cross-functionally to improve aspects of operations.

• Develop a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture using Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies & tools.

• Partner with operations, functional and management personnel to develop and implement methods and processes that optimize the flow and use of material, machine, and human resources.

• Directly supervise all hourly employees on the assigned Manufacturing Platform and CW in the performance of their duties, coordinates labor in support of achieving schedules while monitoring and driving productivity of both employees and equipment to achieve optimum results in the areas of quality, production, health and safety, costs of goods, etc.

• Educate employees the importance of compliance and good documentation practices (GDP) and monitors to ensure adherence.

• Provide input during generation of the operational budget.

• Manage costs and absorption to improve business financial results.

• Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Technical or Associates Degree

• Minimum of 6 years of manufacturing experience

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent leadership experience

• Minimum of 3 years working in an union environment

• Good communication (Written and verbal), facilitation, decision making, collaboration (within Business Unit and cross-functionaly) and conflict management skills

• Strong analytical and technical writing skills

• Experience with MS Word, Excel and Project software

• Excellent interpersonal, influencing, listening, negotiating and problem solving skills

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare manufacturing environment and/or manufacturing and packaging environment.

• Previous experience managing departmental budgets.

• Demonstrated project management experience.

• Experience with Lean and / or Six-Sigma methodology, tools and project execution.

• OSHA training.

• Bachelor's degree or Engineering degree preferred
