The incumbent reports to the Engineering and Reliability Sr. Manager. The incumbent receives direction in the form of broadly defined objectives. Responsibilities include meeting team objectives in safety, sustainability, quality, asset management, cost, and team development. Incumbent is recognized for technical knowledge in engineering, and works within the technical team structure supporting trial work, capital, and daily operations to the purpose of expanding our innovation capability, while providing flexibility and personal/organizational sensitivity. The incumbent provides work direction to junior and senior technical employees, leads broader teams, other functional team members, co-ops, technicians, service providers, etc

This position is in Corinth MS at our Corinth Mill.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop knowledge and skills in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
  • Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives while collaborating and maintaining relationships with technicians, reliability team members, staff, and outside vendors/contractors.
  • Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.
  • Provide on-call and on-site support coverage occasionally/as needed.
  • Actively demonstrate Environmental, Health and Safety as a value through active leadership, positive influence of mindsets and by identifying and addressing risks to prevent loss to our people, processes, and materials, while ensuring compliance with regulations, corporate policies, and plant guidelines

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related major scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Requires 6+ years of experience in a variety of technical and/or operational assignments.
  • Trained in Lean Manufacturing technologies and/or capable of training others.
  • Working Knowledge of:
    • Ancillary Manufacturing Processes and Systems
    • Machine Safety Design
    • Process Engineering Design
    • Process Equipment Communication, Architecture Control Systems, Software Design
    • Project Management and Execution Practices
    • Technical Documentation, Communication, and Report Writing
    • Total Asset Life Cycle Management
    • Lean Manufacturing technologies.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead a team to complete projects within required timeframes.
  • Collaborative Leadership style with the ability to improve teamwork and drive results.
