On the most beautiful college campus in the country, SMU Mustangs are energized by unbridled opportunities – from teaching, learning and research to creativity, performance and athletic endeavor.About the Position:This position supports the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Recruiting at all levels in planning and executing recruiting and yielding strategies for high school students and educators to matriculate incoming targeted undergraduate students for Dedman College of Humanities & Sciences at SMU. Assists the Assistant Dean with the overall recruitment strategy and retention of the Dedman College Scholars Program. This position will also assist to continue and improve alumni engagement through the planning of events and communication, as well as the management of Dedman College's yearly newsletter. Manages and coordinates with the undergraduate recruiter for marketing/promotional products for Dedman College as well as the day to day recruiting functions.Essential Functions:

    Assist with the overall development of the relationships with prospective students, using frequent communication, social media, etc. Substantial travel for on and off campus recruitment activities.Build relationships with high school and community college counselors and teachers; maintain databases and analyze data to track recruiting/admission trends and activities.Assist the Assistant Dean in maintaining the current communication continuum and with creation of new prospective communication programs. This includes print, online, and in-person communication efforts.Key member in the management of the Dedman College Scholars Program. Assist the Assistant Dean with Dedman College departmental scholarship awardsand budgeting, including the award selection, fund management, and scholarship renewals, which requires a strong knowledge of both school enrollment goals, and university enrollment management goals.Advise Dedman College Ambassadors (DCS), including planning special events & programs for DCS, alumni, current & prospective students & their families.Coordinate Dedman College aspect of prospective students’ visits to campus, both individual and group, including in office visits and daily presentations with prospective students and families.  Work closely with other departments on campus for various functions and events. Assist with day-to-day operations of the Office of Recruiting and Communications, including the Dedman Scholars Prog, planning recruiting events and assisting with media (including marketing pieces, publications, web sites, social networking, etc.).Assist in overall recruiting strategy, developing reports/queries & keeping statistical data on students recruited.Assist in Dedman College engagement events for alumni, current students, parents, and prospective students and their families.Assist in the on-going daily operations of the Undergraduate Recruiting Office.  This includes answering incoming phone calls, coordinating campus visitations, activity reports, travel expense reports, maintaining financial records for the office, and coordination of mailings. Local, state and nationwide travel to high schools, college fairs and admission/alumni recruiting events is required. Occasional evening/weekend hours are required.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Three years' work experience is required. Five years' work experience in education and/or recruiting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.  Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak to large groups is essential.A strong customer service orientation and commitment to the cultivation of relationships with students, parents, teachers, counselors, faculty and staff are essential.An understanding of Slate software as a customer relationship management tool is highly desirable. A strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential.Physical and Environmental Demands:
