Pharmaron (Exton) Lab Services LLC is seeking a Senior Scientist with a track record of research excellence and molecular biological assay development experience to join the bioassay team. This team is pioneering innovative Cells and Gene Therapy (CGT) testing capabilities for the treatment of various diseases.

Expertise in study on DNA/RNA/protein expression (qPCR, RT-qPCR, ddPCR and Western Blot and ELISA) and cell biology, detecting viral vector and virus shedding in CGT study are required. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who leads from the bench and enjoys having broad responsibilities and opportunities. The Sr. Scientist will work in a collaborative work environment and will be skilled at working on multiple projects concurrently. Experience with or familiarity with GMP processes is preferred

Knowledge of recent scientific advances, new techniques, and the ability to translate these swiftly into research directions is important. As part of the CGT team, you will be responsible for advancing projects in the discovery pipeline and conducting hypothesis-driven research that complements our programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary project team; serve as team member on other teams
  • Drive execution of research/testing strategy on client projects
  • Develop and maintain key assays
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff
  • Prepare SOPs, protocols, reports, publications and oral presentations, as needed
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to design, develop, and qualify cell-based assays in support of investigational cell and gene therapies.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (PhD) in Molecular Biological Sciences or Medicine including related postdoctoral work
  • At least 3 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • Capable of leading projects and performing laboratory research. Leading the study projects as bridge between R&D and GMP study.
  • Capable of designing and executing studies
  • Broad technical expertise and a desire to work in a laboratory focused role
  • Experienced at managing/directing the research efforts of others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Record of publications in the CGT/biopharmaceuticals area
