Biologics Engineering is a science-led authority function of people with curious minds that supports the discovery and engineering of novel biomolecules. The Protein Science technology hub is at the heart of Biologics Engineering. Our interactive team provides custom cell lines, proteins and reagents in support of all therapeutic areas. We are passionate about collaboration and innovation and strive to develop powerful technologies that help create the next generation of bio-therapeutics to improve patients' lives.

What you'll do

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Senior Scientist to initiate, direct, and perform research experiments and develop next generation technologies for molecular biology, cell line engineering, and protein chemistry. In this role, you will work within an interactive team of authorities to support programs in Cancer, Respiratory and Immunology, Cardiovascular, Metabolic Disease and Infectious Disease. A successful candidate will have an expertise in a wide variety of powerful molecular biology techniques and topics. Your passion and curiosity to independently seek out, develop and innovate new technologies to expand our engineering toolkit will be essential. Your ability to work with a cross-functional team of scientists to meet timelines and drive innovation will be crucial. You should be confident in your ability to multi-task and quickly adjust to changes in priorities and timelines.

Essential for the Role

  • Education and work history: A Ph.D. with 2+years of experience, or an MS with 8-10 years of demonstrated ability in molecular biology, biotechnology, or cell biology.
  • Extensive and current hands-on experience in a wide variety of techniques, including cloning, CRISPR, RT-qPCR, DNA sequence analysis, epigenetic analysis, next-generation sequencing applications, and mammalian cell culture is required.
  • Proven abilities to establish or innovate new technology
  • Candidate must work independently and be self-motivated, meticulous, and well organized to keep an excellent written record of work
  • Strong communication and social skills, both oral and written, with supervisor, team, and various cross-functional project team members to drive successful timeline management and innovation
  • Highly productive and hardworking to explore science-driven technology development in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment

Desirable for the Role
  • Experience working with primary immune cells
  • Experience with viral and mammalian expression vectors
  • Experience with cell-based assays using flow cytometry
  • Experience with basic bioinformatics tools and analysis
